About the Whale Shark tour
The whale shark, contrary to its name, is not a cetacean like a whale, but rather a fish. It is the largest fish species on the planet, with the largest recorded individual measuring an impressive 18 meters in length. If you are planning a trip to the Riviera Maya in Mexico, you will have the opportunity to have an unforgettable experience by swimming with these gentle giants off the coast of Isla Mujeres.
Not to worry, despite their name, whale sharks are actually harmless and pose no threat to humans. Our certified and experienced guides will ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable encounter with these magnificent creatures. In addition to swimming with the whale sharks, you may also have the chance to see manta rays, which can have wingspans of up to 4 meters in width.
To ensure that our guests have a comfortable experience, we do our best to prevent seasickness during the boat ride. To that end, we offer seasickness pills like Dramamine to anyone who may be prone to motion sickness. In order to create a more intimate and enjoyable atmosphere, our groups are kept small in size. Departure
We offer early morning departures from your hotel, with the departure time ranging from 5am to 7am depending on the location of your accommodation. This allows you to make the most of your day and experience the wonder of swimming with the whale sharks as early as possible. To prevent any discomfort during the boat ride, we offer seasickness pills such as Dramamine to those who may be prone to motion sickness.
Boarding the boat
The boat will be boarding soon, and we will head towards the area where the whale sharks are located. Our guide will provide you with important safety information and will explain the details of the activity.
Swimming with whale sharks
We've finally arrived at our destination! As we prepare to encounter the whale sharks, we will outfit ourselves with the necessary equipment including fins, masks, snorkels, and life jackets. We will enter the water in pairs, always accompanied by a guide. During the activity, you will have the opportunity to take two or three dips in the water to fully appreciate these magnificent creatures. Swimming with the largest fish in the world is sure to be a truly unforgettable experience.
Departure to Isla Mujeres
After our exhilarating encounter with the whale sharks, we will depart from their habitat and make our way towards the stunning Isla Mujeres. This idyllic island is renowned for its crystal clear waters, which are sure to be a sight to behold. We will take a break to enjoy a leisurely lunch on the island before setting off on the next leg of our journey.
Snorkeling on the reef
As we near Isla Mujeres, you will have the opportunity to marvel at the breathtaking coral reefs that surround the island. These vibrant and colorful underwater structures are home to a diverse array of marine life and are sure to be a highlight of your trip.
Lunch
After a morning of exploring and adventure, it's time to enjoy a well-deserved Caribbean-style lunch (included in the tour). The menu will feature a variety of delicious dishes such as ceviche with shrimp, guacamole, tostadas, and fresh fruits. We will eat at Playa Norte, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, where you can relax and savor the flavors of the region

After a wonderful visit to Isla Mujeres, it's time to begin the journey back to our starting point at the port of Cancun. As we make our way back, you can reflect on the memorable experiences and breathtaking sights of the day.
